FlyRulebook

Editorial Policy

Last reviewed: 3 September 2026

This page explains how the airline pages on FlyRulebook are made: where the numbers come from, who is responsible for them, how often they are re-checked, what tools we use, and what happens when we get something wrong. If a page you are reading does not live up to what is written here, that is a defect — please tell us.

Who is responsible

FlyRulebook is edited and maintained by JK Hwang (황정균), based in Incheon, South Korea. The editor is not employed by, and has no commercial relationship with, any airline listed on this site. Responsibility for every figure published here rests with the editor: if a number is wrong, it is ours to fix, not the airline's.

Where the information comes from

How a page is built

Every airline on this site is one structured record: allowances, dimensions, weights, fee ranges, known “gotcha” charges, the sources used, and the date it was last checked. The page you read is rendered from that record. This is deliberate — it is why every airline page has the same layout, so you can compare two carriers without re-learning the page each time. When we say a page was checked or corrected, it is the record that was checked or corrected.

How we use AI tools

We use AI-assisted writing tools (large language models) in two ways: to draft and tidy the explanatory text that sits around the figures, and to help pull structured data out of long official pages into a record. We do not use them as a source of fees, dimensions, or policies. A number enters a record only if it can be traced to a cited official page, and the editor reviews and edits drafts before they are published. Nothing on this site is published automatically without a person deciding to publish it.

We disclose this because readers deserve to know how a site is made, and because it is the honest answer to how a very small team keeps more than a hundred airline pages current against sources that change every few months.

Verification and updates

Corrections

If you believe a figure is wrong or out of date, use the contact page and, if you can, include a link to the airline page you are looking at. We re-check the official source, correct the record, and the page's last-checked date is updated. We would rather hear about an error than let a page drift.

Rankings and scores

Where we rank or score airlines, the method is published on How we rate. Scores are calculated from the same records described above, not from opinion, and no airline can pay to change one.

Independence, advertising, and affiliate links

FlyRulebook is free to read and is funded by advertising and, on some pages, affiliate links to travel products. Advertisers and affiliate partners have no access to, and no influence over, what a page says. No fee figure on this site is sponsored. The details are on our About page.

What we will not do

Limits of this site

FlyRulebook is general information to help you plan. It is not a substitute for the airline's current terms, which can change between the day we checked and the day you fly. Always confirm on the airline's official website before you book or travel.
