How to avoid extra fees

  • Always pre-pay checked bags online — the airport rate is $5-$15 CAD higher per bag.
  • On US/domestic/South Eco Budget fares, budget for a carry-on fee or pack into the free personal item only.
  • If you need a carry-on plus a checked bag, compare Eco Budget vs. the next fare up — the bundle can be cheaper.
  • Flights to/from Europe, Morocco and Peru still include a free carry-on even on Eco Budget.
  • Book pet travel in advance to get the lower fee and guarantee a spot — cabin space is limited per flight.
